Tomar I don't know what you are talking about as ours has an awesome single front cupholder. But then we have the GXL so it is pretty classy.
Does yours have the insert in the centre cubby that gives you an upper 2nd storage tray? That is where my odds and ends go but when you pull it out you risk catapaulting its contents as it can be a little hard to remove.

Lol. I actually bought some of that alcohol based hand wash which I used every day not long after getting out of the ute.
Ride confort - can't judge that in the 6 as it had super heavy springs and I was driving on riverbeds for about 7kms a day. Like being in a washing machine. :eek: The V8's rear leaf springs were stuffed and even without a load it was riding flat. Seats were reminiscent of my dad's old series one. Maybe a touch more springy.
Internals - yes the cup single holder in the V8 was nice. I do like the way that when you load all your crap onto the dash it doesn't vanish down that gap between dash and windscreen.
Reliability - Had a warning light come on just as I put the nose into a creek last Tuesday. The engine warning light. Looked up the interpretation in the handbook, it said: "Take vehicle to a Toyota dealer immediately". Useful. Turns out it was a suck blowoff valve. No biggie. Also the rear axle breather hose kept coming off. Great in the conditions I was in, especially seeing as the connector for the hose faces forward, effectively sucking water into the axle/diff. I shook the battery mounts to pieces on the river beds. Was great to find both batteries just kinda bouncing around. Other than that seemed decent. Only in them for a month so no long term perspective PLUS they go into the workshop back at the depot constantly. The 6 just had a gearbox transplant. Crunches all the time in 4 low. Could be my driving though ;-)
Power - seemed good in both. Preferred the V8 to drive but the 6 seemed more suited to the offroad work. Big heavy vehicles pulling a big load through particularly adverse conditions with no track. Had some fun. Wouldn't take my D2 in there... it'd scratch the paint :D
I've just got to say.. The Pilbara is the harshest country I've ever walked on, the alone driven in. Holy crap. Dirt is a commodity out there. I've never seen so much rock let alone had to drive on it. And SPINIFEX... my shins will never forgive me.

I've driven one, to be honest I quite liked it for the short time I was in it, very torquey engine, seat was pretty comfy, if I was after something like that type of vehicle, I'd consider one.

We have a V8 diesel Troopy as one of our work vehicles. I am surprised at how small they are inside:eek: I'm sure my defender is bigger.
Nice torquey engine, but I have no idea re the fuel consumption.
Drive it for more than an hour and load it up and drive on the freeway and you'll think different. PatQuote:

Have heard thru guys at work say that they dont have any pulling power when your doing 100-110kph.All the torque is down low.Talking about the V8's..
The motors power delivery isn't in any way matched to the gearboxs ratio's. Pat

for what its worth, having driven NA, aftermarket and factory turbo 6's, as well as the turbo V8's, i still reckon the factory turbo 6 is the pick of them......
