Slick's better half/photographer/historian here.... was told I had to attach some photos of Lake Eyre and Farina.... so here goes ( i'm not at all computer literate)...> PS... Whern we arrived at WILLIAM CREEK we took the daily papers out of Port Augusta and donated some 'wifey mags' ... womans day, weekly, etc etc to the girls there... they were sooooooo appreciative... pass them on if you can...
Photos should be of Lake Eyre, Oodnadatta Track at the William Creek/Maree intersection and Farina 'ruins' .
Thanks for those. Did you get caught at the traffic lights at WILLIAM CREEK?!
The piccy of the building at FARINA is one of the old pubs, scary to think that was a fully operational town until shortly after the railway (ghan) line changed drection and guage! At the FARINA campground do they still have a donkey hot water service on the shower- was a great shower that one, building of sleepers and nice hot water!)
The piccy at the signs is Bopeechee corner, (top of borefield road and where it meets oodnadatta road)
A little bit east of that point (back towards MARREE is a few houses and a "hippy art type park" at an old station theyve taken over. Opposite that on top of the mesa that can be seen to the north-west is the MARREE MAN or whats left of it as it is degrading quickly.
Great country - used to live nearby and miss it (once you get dust in your veins it doesnt wash out!)

We are on our way home from a trip to Lake Eyre and Dalhousie. It was great to see the Lake almost full and we too a scenic flight over it. Unfortunately it was a dull overcast day so there was not a lot of color.
Here are some pics. Sorry they are all the pics from our trip but Lake Eyre is in the middle.
Yes we were at the southern end of Lake Eyre on the Oodnatta track last week and there was plenty of water then. Funny how everyone we met on the road advised us not to stay at Marree. We opted for Lyndhurst a bit further down the road and at the start of the Strzlecki and it was quite nice.
