    Nice toy.

Defence have been trying for some time to offload some similar fire engines - things like Oshkosh etc. They have been through the tendering and auction processes and they have not sold and they just want them gone - I was told by someone who works in the relevant area that Defence might (not will) accept $5,000 for them.

ASA must have plenty of money as they've just rehashed the logo for whatever reason. I dont take too much notice of the corporate bollocks they dish out to warrant changes.

I left Hamilton Island before the latest vehicles arrived (Mk 9) which is a 4 x 4 version of the Rosenbauer. The 6 x 6's are a Mk 8. I started in Sydney with Mk 2 Carmichaels and Mk3 and 4 Walthers and Austral Cougar RIV. Austral Trident Mk5 and 6 followed both there and Tamworth, back to Walthers at Brisbane and then Mills Tui Mk7's, before transferring to Hamo with the over modified RIV 4000's. Dont think I'll be moving from current location at Ayers Rock, nor do I think I'll see another vehicle upgrade.

I would love to have one of those 107's. They were long before my time though, as I'm only a recent recruit (1987)

I think comparing the old defence Oshkosh and a Mk8 is a bit like comparing a S1 and a RR sport. Although guys used to liken the Mk4s to a blitz, but with more lights The Oshkoshs would have to be from the 70s, at best very early 80s

    Background

    Mk3 (possibly Mk4) Mk2, RIV, Mk2.

Those were the days, you could almost wander onto the airport off the street (around 1984/5 I think).

    Numpty,
Very envious. They are a great rig.
But then I used to love the OshKosh we had in Kalgoorlie. Shame they just got to hard to get parts for.
There are two ex-RAAF firies here atm, both were at Tindall.
We got our new rig a couple of weeks ago from Mills Tui, but we are not supposed to post pics of it, but I think there are some out there that were taken in QLD. It is a new Iveco. Not as flash as yours but is not bad. Monitor on the back sprays 83m (best so far in testing). Mounted on the back as our main concern is tyre fires on Haul Packs, so we face away from them.
