this is why it is creaking at the seams...

i am trying to engage an international specialist to see what they recommend i go with...

and i am about to engage someone from the usa to see if they can tweak it and help get the new bits up and going sooner rather than later

I hate to raise the subject, but a fortnight ago when I updated my virus protection stuff, I started getting messages when moving between 'channels' etc, that said Virus program had detected - from this site - malware, Trojan and a Tracking thingy, 4 or 5 messages...then has'nt reacted since. This would have been over a couple of days, early on.
Since it has gotten worse, those messages have'nt re-appeared.

May only have been my program 'Self-Promoting' itself with lies and damn lies... or there may have been something there...

I remember the time I said I would never get a mobile phone, modern rubbish, I said, confident in the knowledge I would never fall victim to the temptations of modern decadent society. Now I have withdrawal symptoms because my comfort zone is shattered, the AULRO site is playing up.Any one know a cheap shrink? [ Land Rover owner, of course] Bob

    ps- keep smiling, INCISER,

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

i am trying to fast track the new setup but there are only so many hours in a day..
    Inc,

    Your efforts are always appreciated.

While I would/could happily accept 'network' or 'hardware' problems outside of the AULRO server, 8:30am Sunday wouldn't, in my experience, be a busy time.

Shoot me down if I am off base but I think there are two (or more) issues here.

One is the 'AULRO is busy please logon' scenario

The other is a timeout issue caused by the advertisements. I know you need the ads for the ongoing funding but I have been watching them for a while - at times I get a network timeout - not on your server but on the ad serving server.

In recent times this has been more prevalent - I'm not going to blame this on global warming but I am suspecting that some of your ad providers are serving too many servers from a source that cannot cope with the load.

    Just my thoughts.

    John

the timeouts on the adverts is another thing altogether, as the bandwidth and supply of them is not from aulro but from the advert servers except for the one on the right hand side under the logo.

it is more likely to be your internet security package i would think IF it is happening all the time.

i have seen the occasional timeout but they would have been weeks apart.

i know kaspersky, ca, mcafee, and nod32 can suffer from it as i have seen it with my own eyes on customers machines.

    MSE doesnt, malwarebytes does occasionally...

I had the same problem with the constant request to sign in, earlier today. But it wasn't an issue at all yesterday. Some of the extra functionality has been restored though
