I was going to go ahead with the purchase. Once I had inspected the car and listed all the things I wanted sorted out they agreed. A delivery date was also agreed on.

After the dealer failed to have the said vehicle ready for delivery by the due date and informed me it would not be ready for delivery for another 6 weeks (but still couldn't commit to this new delivery date) it was then alarm bells rang .

As there is more than one way to skin a cat. I then decided to cancel the deal as they were in breach of the contract. Once the contract was canceled the dealer principal call and asked for the reason I canceled. I explained the reason and he agreed to refund the deposit.

Two months later and several phone calls and still no refund. Obviously they need the $500 more than I do LOL.

I expected more from a franchised dealer ( Southern Classic Cars Land Rover).

I have never had problems lick this purchasing $250000 plus trucks, must be a used car salesman think LOL. (I'm sure some used car salesman are honest, I just haven't meet one yet LOL)

I'm not surprised with your experience and would believe anything after my experience.

I've bought my last two cars from Melbourne and both times put a holding deposit on them.
Both times the car was not as represented and the $$ quickly refunded.
Luckily enough both times I found a better car the same day,,,

But to fly somewhere on the off chance the car will still be 4 sale when you get there is fraught with dissapointment in my book,,
