Have to say I'm LOVING the Rugby today!!
Just last week Aussie commentators were saying they had all but one the World Cup, now they can't even win against Samoa!
Nice work Samoa!!

So today the Wallabies got beaten by the hard men of the South Pacific ...Go for it Samoa!
Imagine how bad things would be for the Wallabies if they didn't have a decent Kiwi coach?...
cheers,
Terry

No it would be better because they would have Ewen McKenzie as coach, someone who can motivate the players and who the players respect. Could someone please get rid of Elsom and Giteau, then half the problems are solved.
Well done Samoa, its a victory they thoroughly deserved.

I've been a fan of Samoa for many years, their decision to only select players playing overseas and letting home based players play in the Pacific championship payed off.I remember when Tonga beat the Wallabies , years ago. Great for Pacific Islands Rugby. Also a good reminder for Aussie players not to get too arrogant [Giteau? ] Only hard work and dedication will get them to the Holy Grail, something The All Blacks know too well, unfortunately they have fallen at the last hurdle, all too often. I'm getting all the more concerned there will be no hurdles this time for them.Time for the Wallabies to get off facebook, put away their fancy cars @ bling, and get down @ dirty [ or perhaps reduce some of the payments, give some to those who put the effort in]
I hope this result gives hope to all those teams who just haven't been able to get thru to the business end of the World cup, I for one would be pleased to see teams like Samoa, tonga, Fiji, Japan, Canada, USA, stick it up the " superpowers" of World Rugby.[ As long as the Wallabies make the final,of course!] If you detect a ring of excitement in my voice, you are dead right! Can't wait for Friday, Sept. 9, New Zealand v Tonga! Could be the best Cup ever,Bob

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
Rugby fans will also remember Australia scraping past Samoa in the 1991 world cup quarter final, 9 - 3 I think prior to going on to win the Cup.
At full strength, playing with confidence against a side that thinks it will simple turn up to win, any Pacific Nation will test you and particularly one that has pretty much all their players representing over seas.
I hope this is a wake up call as we played with no passion, direction or structure. After the first 20 min it seemed to me that there were not so many people wanting to take the ball up to get smashed as they knew they were going to be one out and could not rely on their team mates for support.
Well done Samoa, I doubt they will get taken lightly again in 2011 and will be a real contender for the quarter finals in September again, I just hope Australia do not have to front them !!
George,
P.S I was at the game as my son and his u/9 team were part of the Honour Guard the plays ran through/past as they came on to the field, he was very excited !!
