This is the one we have and it is very good. The only recommendation I would make is to see if you can get one which is fully boxed - a section across the top as well. I will make this mod to ours sooner than later.

Back in the UK, We have two 4 post Bradbury lifts with wheelfree's as the below pic I found on ebay uk. (I think one is 3000kg and the other 4000)

I would personally go for a 4 post over 2 if you can, but both are better than none by a long way!

Do you need a licence/ ticket to operate one at home. I'm thinking along the lines of insurance, and OH@S, Our local V.M.R. couldn't get the go-ahead to build a slipway used to haul the rescue boat out of the water until at least one member was licensed to run it,all to do with insurance and OH@S rules. As for a licence I dont know but I have never heard any mention of it until now so I will look in to it

Space wise it makes no real difference having the 4 post compare to the 2 post as I will likely be using it to parking space most of the time anyway, I was more thinking of practicality as with the 4 post I would need 2 jacks to get the wheels off the car etc but at around 2 time plus price difference is it worth it?

Whats the thought on the imported brands? again My neighbour has one and has no complaints so I was thinking of going down that road as it not see a lot of use, that is until like was mentioned earlier " and all your landy mates won't either "

I have a imported Launch Tech 4000kg clear floor 2 post here. Same as Repco brand hoist only blue and cheaper with out the repco sticker + red paint.. Mine can be set up either symmetric or asymmetric also can be lowered 300mm for lower sheds such as mine. You then rely on the limit switch.
Purchased it new from here..... LAUNCH TECH AUSTRALIA PTY. LTD. Very happy with it and well built. Power pack is excellent and even has a steel oil tank. These guys are in a big way and you have no issues with back up if needed....

It serves me well, lifts the Land rovers and other 4X4s here with ease.
Is very stable so long as vehicle is positioned correctly.
I would find a 4 post a damn nuisance most of the time. Get in the way.
