Anyone shipped a motorbike over from the UK?

    Hi,
I have a small window of opportunity to buy a motorbike in the UK and ship it back to Australia.

Has anybody on here done this?

    If so, How?

Are the rules the same for motorbikes and cars?

Can I ship the bike over even if I have not owned it for 12 months?

Lots of questions and a very small window of opportunity with zero time to search the web as I have an 8 week old and a 19 month old

    1.Not personally

2.Through a shipping agent is usually the go

3.Not under the personnel import scheme if however it was built before 1989 you can.

Dotars is the govt department you need to search for all the info there.

The UK is good for shipping bikes, but watch it when they come from the USA or Europe as they're all Left Hand Drive...

A friend of mine in the next town bought a Vincent Black Shadow from Bonham's Auctions in the UK. Cost him $5,000 to transport it back (came by air) in a very nice crate. Took ages to clear customs and get all the paperwork done.
