Xtrail owners
Just wondering what sort of fuel range you could expect from an early petrol xtrail, along gravel roads ?
And do you know how big of fuel tank they have ?
thanks.

My Wife has one, a 2004 ST (base model) and loves it. Excellent highway miles and we used to live in a mining town so a few gravel roads and no trouble at all. Obviously its only a soft roader but with 2 kids it has plenty of room.
From memory the tank is somewhere around 60 to 65 litres, when we do a long trip, say 1000km Brisbane to Mackay when we lived up that way, we started with a full tank, usually filled up once on the way when it was in the reserve and that will get us there.
Better if you use it in 2wd around town and we only switch on the smart auto 4wd if it's raining. Ours is a 5sp manual, not sure what the auto is like but ours is thristy round town. Got 80000km from the original tyres and 120000km from the front pads and discs so not too bad on consumables.

She bought a new mazda 3 hatch and reckons its the ducks guts, btw never took either the forrester or the xtrail offroad, used mainly for dog transportation. forrester was a GT. wish I'd bought it.

I had a 2005 auto for a while and averaged 10L/100 ks with a bit of city and country. It never got any beter than 9.5 eaven on a long run and used more fuel on gravel roads.
Hope this helps Dave
