    Had my Photobucket HACKED!

Earlier today I posted a pic of my D2a in the D2 forum. Got a message from Pedro to check on my pic later and it was gone!

Went into Photobucket and all my pics had been moved around...... and a lot of really nasty stuff placed in there as well!

I reported it to Photobucket and they promptly suggested deleting everything, changing my password then uploading a few pics and they would watch it for the next week or so. Of course that's what I've done.

Some of the pics uploaded to my account were as I said..... really nasty.

Has this happened to anyone else? I have really good online security etc but I'm just wondering if online picture hosting is particularly risky?

Feedback from those suitably adept would be appreciated.

If some of the photos are ilegal then you can report it to the police and they will investigate it.
About 2 years ego some idiot sent me some photos that would be criminal if I kept or not report them.
The police investigate the case and appreciated my action.

I dont have an online photo account but I did have my email accessed a few days ago.

Some company (I assume) used it to send spam emails to all of my contact list.

I reported it and changed passwords again and it has been ok since.

I think I will start changing passwords every month from now on.

The Hotmail account I've had for years was hacked last week. Whoever got in (I had a strong password) used the address to send links to everyone in my address book. The links were to a site selling various pills and probably a virus into the bargain.

Luckily a couple of friends called me and I changed my password, then opened a new email account and shut down my Hotmail account. I have also changed most other passwords etc, as whoever got in could have copied everything in my email account and could be trawling it for useful infomation.

It's a reminder to all of us to have strong passwords (so not your dog's name) and to change them fairly frequently.
