    Yes this thread is a bit of light hearted banter. But to put my pedantic hat on. The title of the thread should read 'LandRover Defenders-No engines by 2031'' because although Luddites such as myself, Ben and a few others may not recognise them as such,Discoveries are LandRovers too.

    Ah but a similar theorem for Discoveries would see the MY31 Discovery 9 with the Tdv6, 4.5 Litre, with Quad Turbos.

    And by 2051 the Discovery 15 with SCRC - Spacetime Continuum Response Control

    By 2031, Discoveries will also have larger rim diameter than the outside tyre diameter. This will effectively prevent punctures meaning journalists will not have any excuse to give anything else every 4x4 of the year award available. In fact, they will create awards just to give to the D9.

    Not far off ~4.8L average engine size in 2031 for the disco. (and probably 5 tonnes kerb weight ).
