Over here in WA it seems that any colour combination is allowed plus some of the plates are tiny with very small fonts. Clubs also put big logo`s within the numbers so I cant see how they could complain about my UK style ones.

I just got back from Vicroads today - I imported my vehicle too - from Queensland:p - To be honest they were prompt, courteous, helpful and got through the process in 15minutes.
The fella I dealt with was the same bloke who registered my Series 3 a couple of years ago. I remembered him and recounted how he told me about his army days and how he had to drive a Land Rover then. Ahh it helps to find common ground.;)
Yours will be a little more complex but if you ring them first and get all your paperwork in order, its just a matter of cash (and lots of it :()
I went to the Seaford office.
It's a helluva lot better than the vicroads of 10 years ago.

... if it happens (and it's a big "if")
... I think it will be the same people at the same address doing the same job - but with a different letterhead and uniform
... they'll still be after as much of our money as they can get ...... on the pretence of providing "safer" roads and a "safer" driving environment
Yeah they've already closed most stand alone Maritime offices and merged with RTA's so it's just a change of uniform and letterhead away along with some staff retraining so the RTA staff they keep can do maritime ops and vice versa. So they save on property etc for one dept and kill off some staff at they same time while "improving" our services by having a one stop shop.
See "SERVICE SA" on the web...
thats what they did here!
