    SAB Miller to buy Fosters

So what are you Ozzies gonna say when you have to buy South African-owned BEER?

We're everywhere, resistance is futile, you WILL be assimilated!

We don't buy Fosters. We ship it off to other weirdos.

Products of Fosters Brewing (aka Carlton ****) are only purchased and drunk by persons of poor taste and low intelligence (Yanks, Seth Efrikans, Victorians). These products are known in the better parts of Australia as Surfside Sex.

We call Fosters a Screw in a Canoe, but I get your drift.

Funny that nobody admits to drinking the stuff. Must be a lot of ghost drinkers.

To be perfectly honest, I've NEVER actually seen any Fosters here.
Apparently it is around, but pretty rare. Maybe in the "touristy" areas?

With any luck you blokes will put some taste back into it, because Carlton certainly changed what apparently used to be a great beer, when it was originally brewed in the Fosters brewary, ironicly the Fosters brewary was started by two Americans, they sold it and buggered off back to America when Carlton United was first starting out and aquiring the smaller brewaries around the state (Victoria) and so the downward spiral of good tasting beer began

Thankfuly James Squires and Coopers are still made in the tradition method

Sorry to burst that bubble, but South African Breweries didn't alter the Millers formula after they bought that brand. Now Millers is a nice light beer, but not to everybody's taste. (I like it, but I'm not a big beer drinker, so a full body lager can be a bit bitter for my palate...)

THAT BEING SAID: if SABMiller buys Fosters on a hostile take-over, then all bets are off as no continuity plans would be agreed to.

I suppose SABMiller will have a look at the brewing process and make any changes they need to make Fosters a more accepted beer. If that means changing the formula, then maybe you're in luck!
