Whilst at the Miller Club historic race meeting in Milwaukee, I met Phil Reilly. Phil is a partner in Phil Reilly & Company, Corte Madera, near San Francisco Phil Reilly & Company, Vintage Car Repair. i met him again at Indianapolis Speedway. Phil is a decent bloke and very pleasant and helpful. He invited me to visit their works.
They do very high end restorations, rebuilds, and do most of the maintenance and rebuilds of Cosworth FPV engines for a very competitive historic race series in the USA.
Attached are some photos of cars and engines seen there.
"Offy Dave" was engaged in sorting out a FWD Miller 91 which was found when on the dyno to have rings that were not sealing. Dave was dismantling it for investigation.
To put that last paragraph in perspective, a Miller 91 engine "as is, where is" was sold at auction in Milwaukee for US$250,000.
There are more on another SD card. I will post them when I find them.
Whilst I was there I saw Bugattis 35-37-39, an 8CM Indianapolis Maserati, a big 1930's Hispano, Miller and Offy engines, a big KB Lincoln V12 in for a full rebuild, a 1914-15 Peugeot GP car, a 250LM Ferrari in for a ground up restoration, a veteran Isotta-Fraschini GP car, a Gatto coupe, a Pegaso, a number of others under canvas, FPV Cosworth engines at various stages of refurbishment, enough parts to build several FPV's and Offys.
