    WHAT THE!!!

I am sick of this rubbish. Landrover MUST realise that the aftermarket in its entirety is there to BENEFIT the product, not detract from it.

I might even ask THEM if one day i can invoice THEM for ME using THEIR 'Logo' as a basis for MY corporate logo so I can improve THEIR standing in the marketplace by providing reliable and sensible vehicle support, so MORE people can drive their Landrovers in this country without fearing a lack of dealer support that THEY removed.

    Idiots.

I HOPE they read this, IF they send me a letter I will frame it and put it next to my business statement on the office wall for ALL to see.

BTW, Keith, I am glad you are still trading

Hi time we all got together and started our own 4wd brand, yeah loosely or tightly based on LR but you only need a 30% or change in design and you're ok from what I understand. That wouldn't be hard and then we could all have something we believed in and supported and it would outperform absolutely everything else on the market and we'd be happy for people to brandish our name "all over the countryside" (as the Leyland bros used to say)

Perhaps we are in for a new revolution of brand name protection, and who uses or markets it. BP bought heaps of phrases and domain names associated with it's US oil disaster. Maybe LR and Mitsi are leading the way with brand protection before a move into China and India.

It's almost like the servicing, affordability, and longevity are dictated to us buy the manufactures. If they get it right we will all trade up every three to five years again with them. So why not control any bad press or aftermarket parts that take the consumer away from the comfort of the dealers waiting lounge.

I think the corporations have almost worked out how to control the internet. How will all meet if AULRO can't have Land Rover in it's name.

Oh and Keith, very glad you are sill in business, I thought for a second there I had done my dough.

    Corporates

1954 - The name "Land Cruiser" was created by the technical director Hanji Umehara. "In England we had another competitor - Land Rover. I had to come up with a name for our car that would not sound less dignified than those of our competitors. That is why I decided to call it 'Land Cruiser'," he recalls.[5] The name had already been used on the US Studebaker Land Cruiser car from 1934 to 1954 but this didn't cause any problems.

So how come Land Rover didn't go after Toyota for using the word 'Land'. And did they have a go at Holden for making a Drover?

Corporations are becoming too powerful and sophisticated... They forgo common sense and attack the people the should be siding with. I guess it all comes down to making a buck... The almighty $ is a devious thing to stack up against humanity.

Once upon a time we had our governments to protect us from their greed/drive for profits. Perhaps it's time to re-regulate big business? We all know they suck at self regulating... Just ask the folk who lost their homes from privatized and de-regulated power lines starting fires around Horsham a year or two ago.

Oops... Getting close to political ranting again!

    ROVERTRACKS is no longer

Why don't we all get together and invoice Landrover for the "free" advertising they are getting on all our vehicles? Jim
