That just confirms what I think of him - not much.

There is a tent in the front window of my local Aussie Disposals store, with a big cardboard cutout of him in front of it, and a sign that says something like 'As used by Bear Grylls'.

Actually he and his production company have always been pretty much up front with that information. There are statements made to effect in the show, though sometimes easily missed.
I still like the show.

Be careful his accomplice in the first movie is my cousin and was infact his idea not Alby's. They did not have the money too set up shots only basic home movie cameras. The initial World Safari film was not a set up, just 2 people off on an adventure. My Uncle actually built the Greta Marie boat. I was at the world premiere for the film.
Having said that Alby's follow ups obviously had some sequences staged.

At least I still have fair dinkum aussie aventurer Russell Coight to look up to.
