Pretty much like the 1999 hailstorm that went through Sydneys southern & eastern suburbs, the hail stones were going straight through tile roofs and then through the ceilings. We had to get a grader to clear the road into Bundeena, and ice was still there 24+ hrs later.
Qantas were close to writing off a near new 767 that was on the runway threshold at the time.

Yes, I was working at the Port Hacking Conference Centres at the time and it was amazing.
We had craters 3-5 cm deep in the grass field, smashed roofs, shade sails acting as nets and full of cricket ball sized hail for well over a day.
I remember looking up at the sky about 5 mins before it started and thinking that I'd never seen anything like it before. The BOM copped a lot of flack for not giving any warnings.
