OMG that really is surreal! Is that real or staged? Certainly looks real.

Cool vid, but it looks staged for a few reasons. First of all, the 4WD's approach was very fast, and it came to a stop very quickly after it hit the bike & light pole. If it was going that fast, it would have ended up much further down the road, and the bike would have been in a million bits. Secondly, I didn't see the "PINTO" badge on the 4WD, so I'm a bit mystified why it caught fire, much less exploded. All a bit too "Hollywood" for my liking.

FAKE!!!

I am leaning towards staged. Very well done, but still a set up.
The fuel ignites just slightly forward of the rear axle. That is fine, but what was the ignition source? Also, the way the flames spread, the fuel tank must have been ripped open.
However, the bonnet hits the pole, and nothing at all hits the fuel tank.
In addition, if the tank was ripped open, then there is no real cause for an explosion like that.
Smells of Bollywood to me.
Hi
I would say this is fake, that motorbike should have travelled a lot further than it did when the car hit it.
After looking at it many times, I'm still not sure if it is staged or real.
To me the things that make it seem real are:
-The motor bike was hit from the back and sort of flicked or lifted out of the way. It wasn't smashed full on, so the lack of much damage to it is plausible.
- The street scene doesn't look like a set.
- The SUV clipped the pole which caused it to turn 180 deg. This probably slowed it down considerably therefore stopping it from going much further down the road.
However the things that make me wonder are:
- The way the camera pans to the SUV approacing the intersection before the collision (although the noise of the car approaching at speed could explain this).
- The cause of the fuel leak - I couldn't see anything that would cause the tank to rupture. The fire is plausible as fuel spraying on a hot exhaust pipe under the car could ignite.
- The main problem I have is the violent explosion. Looks too much like some sort of explosive was used.
If it is staged, it's a fantastic job. If it is real...![]()
