There have been other ambulances fitted for roof racks although its not common. I would think the added height and top load would outweigh the advantages, and so many ambulances about being restored need undamaged tropical rooves etc...

Do the maths, an item on the roof of an ambulance will have about 4 times the effect on centre of gravity as the same item sat on the floor. It may not be a problem on stability when travelling across the Nullabor, but it will increase the wind resistance and add fuel costs. It will increase instability on side slopes and with cornering at highway speeds.

Don't do it. If you need more room tow a trailer.

They would fall over easy enough without a roofrack so they do not need any help, just ask any ex-serviceman that has been a passenger in the back when they have fallen over

I was told of an incident where a 2a bloodbox was returning from an exercise when the crew needed a relief stop, so pulled to the shoulder of the highway and were relieving themselves facing the left side of said bloodbox,when it started to topple over onto them during mid-relief I was informed that the ensueing couple of minutes was hectic as they tried to hold a 2a Ambo up

Can you utilize it and maybe do something like this ?? I find this rack is really useful

I kinda thought it was a dumb idea. But looking at the Ambo in the setting sun after a red wine or two and the offer of a free roof rack my mind wandered. Thanks fellow Land Rover Ownerians for keeping me on the right path
