Is it in Park?

I hope someone can help with this issue.
My partners rangie a 93 vogue classic was being used to get her knee brace changed over at the hospital last night. On the way there we stopped for food and at a few other places.
After this we went to the hospital - dropped her off and looped around a bit in the car and then finally parked it, turned off the engine and sat there for a few mins. Then I got the call to go pick her up - go to turn the car over and got nothing!!
Nothing meaning - all lights are go, fuel pump ok, can hear solenoids clicking, but nothing from the starter. No signs of starter issues before hand either (I know what they can sound like)
This POS has a alarm fitted to it and I think that might be the issue. seems to be factory. any way to by-pass it or any ideas?? Had to leave the car and take shopping with us. Going back tonight to kick the **** out of it or get my 4.6lt V8 rangie to drag it over a cliff!![]()

If there is an immobiliser, disconnect the battery for a minute or two then reconnect.
Or...give the starter motor a clout with a heavy implement. Might just have sticky brushes.
Thanks for the posts guys....
Yeah its in parkhehehe
Tried it in neutral as well.
Yeah smacked the starter abit - but there doesn't seem to be enough draw from the dash lights to indicate that its trying to turn the start motor.
Disconnection on the battery is number one on the cards - had no tools last night lol
any other ideas? I came across some reading that made mention of pulling some relays or running a ground wire from the ecu plug>?
re-partners carthey were in my rangie lol
well so far I have found the following info:
""The problem is allmost solved! I found the problem, it was not the starter, not the relais, not a fuse and not the neutral safety switch! I tested it all, it tooks me a lot of time and brain ;-) finally i found out that my central locking also not working, with some search:
i found the Alarm/centrallocking ECU which probably is faulty! most of the cars are mass (minus pole of battery) swiched, means the realy swich over minus wire (black ones) So i checked it and found out nothing worked. I made a new connection for the starter with direkt to the chassis and look there it works perfectly!
So meanwhile I'm looking for a new Alarm/centrallocking ECU. maybe it solves all my problesm with the centrallocking! "
"Myself didn't remove any relay. I just made a new connection for the minus cable on the alarm-ecu! In cars they allways connect/disconnect the minus with a relay. So i made a direct connection to the chassis and it works perfect. you find the alarm-ecu under the steeringwheel left (attention: i drive a right hand car...)
Hopefully i could help you, if you need more helpfully pic. please aks... (i can make some pics from the alarm-ecu!)"
I have also found the correct manual as mines a 91 and does not have this alarm crap lolfound location points for all alarm switches and a test function as well. here's to hoping.
Lol ok driven about. Either way nothings worked. Bottom of a cliff I say. If it does get fixed ill let task know.
