Did actually happen - they tracked down the victim, the specialist doctor who did the operation to remove it and the fish itself (in a preservation bottle). Actually reunited the victim and fish after 10 years.

Actually had the endoscope (dickiescope) pictures of the fish up the pee pee and other pics of the operation - so is not anecdotal.
