    gota love cities

Well that was an interesting afternoon, went into the city for a job interview - which went well.

Car gone, called police go through the stolen car yarda yarda; nope towed, not that the sign said so but after 4 pm the spot where I parked turns into a clearway sooo $208-00 tow fee, $200-00 parking fine and a $13-80 taxi fare to get the car. I didn't get Adelaide I dont get Brisbane, guess I have been a bush kid for to long and I dont fit into cities.

Beginning to think I should have never left the NT

Now that is one reason I avoid going into the "big smoke"

Best spot to short term park is Roma Street parklands, cheap as

I never try to park in the city after being hit $20 for two hours a while back. Always park out and take the bus. Very convenient service.

I wouldn't care if I had parked there knowing I ran the risk of it getting towed away. But to not have clear signs saying so I think is reprehensible; I'm going for a job interview = I'm unemployed, I need to lose over $400-00 like I need a hole in the head

It's almost funny, I parked on the street because I got a $42-00 parking bill for parking in a secure park the day before and a $50-00 the day before that. As my funds are running low I went in earlier to try to find a street park so I wasn't paying so much.

    Good on me.

If you have to go into the city again, you can leave your car at my place, get the train in from sandgate. [about 26 minutes] Or alternately park at sandgate, if you wish. Sandgate is like a small country town, quite safe to leave your vehicle. Bob

If there was no signage, contest it with the council. Take pics and write a letter and submit. Explain your situation and that you are fairly new to city parking and do not understand clearways. They may see sense.
From memory in Adelaide clearway signs must be posted every certain distance, can not remember the distance though.
Why I will not live in a city or take a job that does not provide parking.

.......... well I live in the biggest city we have and yes it can be a bastard tryna get a park. However clearways are a signposted and you will find little sympathy from Rangers - comes down to 'be more observant'.

I got pinged for parking my broken down Falcon (auto failed) in a handicapped zone (zone obscured by trees) to get it out of traffic flow - Ranger said I should have arranged a tow - I said what you think Im on the phone for??!!

Still got a ticket and no empathy (was only there for max 40 mins)

Just the penalty ya pay in the city - space is a premium!!

I got fined for breaking down in the drop off zone at Coolangatta Airport, even though the fire brigade said it was unsafe to move the vehicle because it was a fuel leak. Fortunately, they cancelled the fine when I appealed.

Blitz, If you need to get to the city again, I work in the inner south and can get you within a 15-20 minute bus ride of the CBD.

Or failing that, I can show you where you can park and ride for free
