    Unusual Help

Found myself in a predicament the other day, when I went to have the front wheels balanced and couldn't find the "special" socket to remove the lock nuts on the alloy wheels. What to do?

I remembered hearing an advertisement on local radio a few months ago that ARB in Tamworth do Land Rover servicing, so I duly fronted there, explained my problem and although they didn't have a land Rover there that day, one of the mechanics, who owns a Disco, had his father bring in the said socket. Problem solved.

I have since learned that there are 12 different combinations of this socket, so it was rather fortunate that this one fitted. I am changing all of the locknuts to standard ones soon.

So thankyou to ARB Tamworth for your help.

    Perry,

There is a letter stamped on the end of the nut, this will be for the corresponding socket to suit.

Yeh get rid of the security nuts. I've had a socket adapter fail on me, luckily in my drive and not out on a trail.

    Yeah, thanks Justin.

I have ordered the correct one. Just thought how lucky that the one I borrowed matched mine.
