Thread: Time for the snip

So...... everyone is saying how many years ago they had it done, but how old were you at the time? The word used to be that doctors were reluctant until you reached a certain, varying age.

I was 28, initially the doctor was a tad reluctant but when I pointed out that we had a pigeon pair already, another on the way. We don't want anymore kids and it was obvious that the birth control methods we were using cannot be trusted, She was convinced and wrote a referral. It was either a vasectomy or buying shares in a coat hanger business.

After 3 girls, we decided that with me at age 38, I would go.

No dramas from the docs at all.

As it turns out, SWMBO had her bits out for medical reasons early last year. By comparison, my teeny weeny little op was nothing.

She lost a lot of blood during & after the surgery, and then a week later, came down with Sepsis, which very nearly claimed her life. All worked out well in the end thou.

So, if you are deciding if it should be you or her that gets de-sexed, then consider the difference between a minor procedure, and a major operation. Even if a guy has to have a general...

I was 26

Similar statement - we had 2 - once we replaced ourselves we had no intention of more....

That was enough...

Surgery was the following Monday...

I just wonder which is the opinion of JohnF about this
