funny thing is that despite the infection, each day since the op it has been feeling a little bit better than the day before. Reckon I'm back to about 75% now, coming off a low of about 20% when I staggered out of the surgery and down the stairs, feet 6 feet apart, and white knuckles holding onto the banister. Geez that was a rough day!

Walking up hills is still a bit of an issue though.
Like I said before, take it easy there is no need to rush. Over doing it increase the risk of complications.

Now on to the part that people who do talk about these thinks don't talk about. Cleaning out the pipes.....

It isn't quick. It isn't a couple of shots and you'll be clear. The Doc will give you three sample jars and then tell you later that you may need some more, depending on how big your reservoir is and how potent your punch. It is different for each person, but I had mine done December 2011 and I'm still waiting for the all clear.

Lets just say that my wife's and I dedication to contraception was not misplaced.

The doc told me its about 30 shots before the pipes start to run clean...

My wife and I were recently married when I had mine done - already had a child each - so were still in the honeymoon stage

Took it as a bit of a challenge

Doc was surprised to see my wife and the container walk in the door! Fair to say, no swimmers after a week....

(Best week of my life - I must have used up all my "marital credits" because theres been a steep decline over 14 years.... )

i had mine done 12 years ago the day after my 40th birthday, i had a local plus a shot of Valium so was "awake" for all of it and the wife holding my hand, dont remember the pretty nurse holding my other hand!.
no dramas as the Doc at Mount Gravatt had at the time done 28,000 of them, he sat me down in a room nearby after with a cuppa and some bickies with the ice pack (peas), after an hour he let me go and watched while i got into a neighbours car to be chauffeured home (no driving allowed) then it was 48hrs of doing nothing (and to do it as many times as possible to flush out the system) but watch videos, going for a pee and SWMBO swapping the bags on a regular basis (and for the only time) waiting on me hand and foot. Absolutely no dramas, best thing i ever did. Most of the men in i know have had the job done and report an easy time but then they breed them tough in the sunshine state
the wife wouldnt use the bags of peas afterwards as they had been defrosted too many times, well that was her excuse anyway.
i heard a story of a bloke who was warned to take it easy but drove to a wedding afterwards, danced all night, got on the drinks until plastered and then wondered why he woke up with 2 big black knackers!

Had it done 3 hours ago .
And yep only one side numb so more needle half way through. Doc agreed I'm a bleeder to so guaranteed bruising. Worst bit was the tugging as it triggered things deep inside that were attached caused my legs to spasm. Didn't manage to drive all the way home before it stafted wearing off. At least the car has cruise so not a lot of effort on the freeway.

No one touches my bits (At least with sharp implements) unless I'm well and truly out of it.

Got delivered, waited for (and on), knocked out, trimmed and returned & delivered back home.

Got a recheck and everythings still clear so all good.

When i had mine done, many years ago,the doctor started to cut before the anaesthetic started to work.I nearly jumped out of the chair!

    Anyway,after that all good.

A bit of bruising afterwards, that was all.

Talking Not the worst that will happen to yer!!

yep, 34 years ago, "snip", 4 months after the birth of our third child, the doctor, a friend of ours got me to sign a form to the effect I would not sue him for assault, funny I thought, seeing as how I asked him to do it.
I believe it is the manly thing to do, it did not hurt, (much), the ladies go through a lot having kids and then for the next 21 (and beyond) years just being a mum, look at it as "a gift that keeps on giving".
And as for it being easily reversible, maybe, but a guy I know up here (second marriage to a "clucky" much younger bride), had it reversed about 2 years ago all up cost $10,000, a lot to pay to be about 70 years old at your daughters 21st.

good luck George. I'm still a bit sore on the right, mostly after sitting at my desk for most of the day. Always feels good in the morning after I have given it all a bit of space and rest.

Thanks but right now it is worse. Can't tell if the bruising has increased over night or not yet.

But yea women cop it worse than us.

Keep using the bag of peas for a couple of days.

It will help reduce the ache and remind you to slow down.
