Anyone had trouble with new iPhone software and their car stereo?
Mate has just updated his iPhone software which seemed to go OK but the stereo would no longer talk to the the phone. Has anyone else had a problem with iOS5 and their Landy stereo? He has the standard Rangie sound system.
Ive heard here there have been probs with previous phone software upgrades, is it a matter of going to the Dealer and getting the system patched?
(My connection to the good old after market cheapo in the Defender is AOK)

If you're talking about Bluetooth, and it's anything like Toyota, you just have to wait until Apple release a version that works. My wifes Prado worked to start with, then stopped after an iPhone update, then worked after another one etc. etc.
On the other hand my Hilux has worked all the time, though I rarely update my iPhone. The only change is that recently I have found a few extra Bluetooth functions have been enabled (volume control, and forward/backwards track selection from the radio rather than the iPhone). I guess the Prado radio is more advanced and so reacts more to small changes!
Toyota can do nothing, the problem is that Apple keep changing their Bluetooth implementation......

As far as i am aware he has managed to sort the Bluetooth problem. The car came with the Apple cable and he always just plugged his phone and iPod in and it all worked, through steering controls and touch screeen etc. The time the screen comes up with "does not recognise device" or something like that.
