My NOMAD tractor wont "tract" ! 3D printer help?

I have a Nomad lawn tractor sprinkler, (originally green with orange or red wheels - I highlighted NOMAD with texta for photos! :P )

its been a good faithful servant but
now it stopped moving... for the first time I pulled the top off and discovered that it has broken a plastic(?) piece off the cog wheel that goes around the axle (spindle). (bottom under "cog teeth" in top photo and to right of cog teeth in next photo)

Does anyone have a NOMAD sitting about they want to send me the cog from? Please?? (yeah right!)

does anyone know a good solution to get another made?
(mate suggested getting a couple made by someone with a 3d printer, (professionally) as apparently they can do it with a similar substance to the original (which I might add is probably 50 years old and the sprinkler weighs a tonne!) )

Any suggestions who may be able to do it? (and will it cost a fortune? - I'd hate to retire the old girl if I dont have to , its old and slow but it keeps going.... so I like it (maybe its a nomad l/r sprinkler?)

    Hope someone can help, cheers!

Make a decent sketch with critical dimensions, i'll get you a quote for 3d printed reproductions :-)

    Hi Digger,

I have a 3D Printer, and would be happy to produce a part for you at the cost of the material. I'd suggest professional rates for the part to be made would be crazy considering the application! (most have a minimum rate of around $250!)

As mentioned, I would need some critical dimensions.

NOTE that a 3D printed part may not be as strong as the original. My machine produced ABS parts in laminated layers, so I'm sure you can imagine this not being as strong as a solid gear. I may be able to use an ABS/Polycarb blend material, which will certainly help.

I know a tail of some blokes drinking beer in a backyard shed. The annoying next door neighbour went out and left her Nomad on it's mission around her yard. The said blokes worked out that if you spin the water nozzles around the other way, it puts the Nomad into reverse whereby it will return to the end of the hose and dig itself into a muddy bog.

IM ALL FOR THAT! what price would we be ballparking? (what do you want measured or would it be easier for me to send you the part? (cog etc) )

I CAN P.M. -IF THATS EASIER.

Yep, send me the part. I can't calculate material cost until I know the size and therefore the volume of material required to build the part.

I'll send you a PM with my PO Box
