    Tolled incorrectly

My newly NSW registered motorbike has driven through Sydney once where it was carefully ridden around and away from all toll roads on the 7th of October.

In the mail the other day I received a bill alleging on the 19th of October I was driving on the Military Road exit (where ever that is) for which I was charged the handsome sum of $1.46. Of course having no idea I was on the road at the time I failed to pay and received a toll notice with an administration charge attached of an extra $10.

Now you may have already guessed that I hate toll roads and will go out of my way just to avoid them. So unless I'm suffering from amnesia I don't owe a cent.

However if I ask for a review of said toll notice I must do it in writing, I was not supplied with a postage paid envelope either so not only do I have to make the effort of attending the Post Office I have to pay $0.50 cents over a third of the original fee.

Thus I've decided to simply ignore the notice. I know it would probably be only a few minutes out of my day to sort the issue but it is the principal, I don't think they're going to accept my $10 administration charge.

Has anyone else had this trouble?
And does anyone know what steps will be taken if I continue to ignore notices?
Of course I should just sort in now but...

Bad move - you will either end up in court, have debt collectors chasing you and a bad mark against your credit rating.

    I would sort it.

The agro down the track will not be worth it.

If you ignore them they send the debt to the NSW infringment processing bureau the fine then jumps to $150.00 if you dont pay the they can suspend your lic and rego. The fine is taken from a photo taken at the off ramp so ask for the picture often the person looking at the photo gets the rego wrong. Military rd exit is on the warringah "freeway"

Have a read of this they dont like tolls either

they have a special mention of your off ramp

Some time after my son died, and whilst his motorbike was still in Albury police custody, we received a couple of those. It purported to show he'd been riding that bike (rather bent as it was) on the M7 after he died.

I rang and queried it and explained why. They were most apologetic and canned the toll and fee.

I suspect you were riding inbound on the Warringah expressway (free) and turned left into Military Rd to go towards Mosman. Did You?
When the Lane Cove Tunnel ( tolled) was built the labor "Government" got the builders to build an off ramp to Military Rd which is isolated from the Lane Cove tunnel but carries a toll. It is well signposted but easy to miss with all the other signs around.

I'm not very familar with the road names but the only time the bike has been to Sydney was 11 days before they allege and I was travelling through Sydney to Newcastle yet they (those evil toll companies) allege I was traveling southbound...anyway you've all made me worry enough to ring them up and sort it out.
