It do make you wonder, people who drive behind reversing cars!!!!!
I know the reversing vehicle must always give way, so you're in the wrong legally. But what about some common sense?????? and not put himself in the way?
I feel for you
Danny
I somehow backed into a Nissan, when reversing slowly out of a car spot at Bunnings today. I wasn't looking in the passenger mirror - no real reason to ( I thought) when this guy snuck up- where he was going I have no idea as I was coming out of a cul-de sac and was just clearing the white van, then CRUNCH. I drove forward a couple of meters and there he was!!
My first words were "you could have tooted" but he said the car wouldn't go into reverse- pretty dumb as he could have simply gone forward. He never moved for 5 min while I took the pics, just sat there with his head in his hands.
Oh well, there goes my no claim- first car I've hit ( in my Landie) for god knows how long 30 years??

As you now know, it happens so easy. I know this from my own unfortunate experience. Had a 4wd truck that I managed to back into a car. Early than that it was a ute that had a canopy, so little rear vision. Manage to hit some one with that. Usually the other person being impatient. Hope the landy has not much damage.

I reckon ALL small compact cars should be BANNED and taken off the roads ... they are all just so small & dammed hard to see it's a given that you're eventually gonna hit one !
Hope the Landy wasn't damaged ?![]()
Kev..
Going ... going ... almost gone ... GONE !! ... 2004 D2a Td5 Auto "Classic Country" Vienna Green

Bad Luck DJ. Didn't damage the Landy by the look of it. That's the important thing.![]()
Must be the week for that sort of thing...
Landie,,, damaged ???
Nah, ego - yes.
Another half second & I would have checked the mirror too
The next trick is getting a real person from RACV to talk to me![]()
if you havent made any claims in 30 years as claimed......then you should have your 65% no claim bonus.......permanently......
ie.....you can make a claim and still keep your no claim bonus.......
look into your policy......
that goes up every year........
