Suicide attempt would have been very painful--ouch.

Having put in a new windscreen into our disco 1, a few weeks ago, on Monday a scrub Turkey decided to commit suicide by flying into my windscreen, while I was at 80km per hour along the Tweed River valley.

There was a big thump, and he/she did in my Radio aerial, but gladly our new Windscreen survived-- our aerial did not survive.

And that Suicidal Scrub Turkey may have survived his Suicide Attempt, as I last saw him running of into the bush on the side of the road.

I too can vouch for the strength of the Disco windscreens.

When travelling up north one night for work I took out a bird doing around 110 - 120km/hr. It was blown into me my the drag from a B-Double heading in the opposite direction.

Scared me as it was late at night, but pulled up to check the D2 and nothing other than a giant splat mark on the glass.

Perhaps it was satans turkey, in fact if you cross reference the letters in the word turkey with the ancient scrolls of the munjabbagundawindijesuslovesus tribe it clearly states 666 the devils turkey.

Thank the lord you were strong enough to fend off his evil.

Why didn't you go after the turkey to see if it was ok, you could taken him home, you would have still had a couple of weeks to fatten him up.
Would have been a free christmas turkey. Gobble Gooble

No, sorry, it hit the windscreen first then across windscreen to Aerial, then taking out the aerial as it was leaving the screen.

I had an owl hit my D1 screen, right in front of me, don't know what happened to the owl but the screen cracked from top to bottom. I was more than cracked from top to bottom.

don't worry about the Turkey, they're tough. An old bush recipe for Turkey:

    Prepare Turkey, select desired vegetables.

Place Turkey @ vegetables in large pot , fill with water.

Place large rock in pot, light fire.

When Turkey is cooked, throw it away @ eat rock. Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

    Hi

We just had the windscreen replaced a few weeks ago in our Defender, 3 days after replacement the wife was driving towards our place when a Possum decided to jump off a power line straight into our new windscreen, she was driving at 60 ks when it hit, outcome, 1 dead Possum, 1 screaming wife and 1 screaming daughter, but the windscreen survived, if it would have been the old windscreen would have been a diffrent story, would have been hard to explain to the insurance company 3 days after replacing it.

scary stuff John, while you the bird and the car came out unscathed, it could have been much different - only a swerve of a couple of feet a truck coming the other way and a totally different outcome.

I hit a kite hawk on my motor bike years ago nearly took me off the back of it, I stopped and it took about 1/2 an hour before I was able to ride again. It was in the NT when there was still an open speed limit and I was doing about 180kph not good at all.
