Lucky you got away lightly! Hope they don't come back...
In Parramatta there was a glazier that had a deal with the local scum going, the glazier would come around and stick their advertising sticker on a shop front pane. Within a week that piece of glass would be smashed. The glazier was smart enough to not pick the toughened glass panes that a druggy with a rock couldn't smash.
Thanks Mark. Thankfully our glazier is on the up & up.
... and btw ... maybe if you trade in the 2 non working land rovers, the dunny-door and the pushbike you could buy a cheap, reliable, working tdi D1 ?
Just a thought ...![]()

Sorry to hear Kev, do you video footage ?? there is a new local site that you can upload the footage to the web that was advertised by ACA.
If you do have some you also do what Oli-Dogg did and his wife canvased the area with a photo and then he dropped a dvd in the guys letterbox with a note telling him to return the stuff.
A week or so later then dropped another copy off to the local cops with his address.
It worked quite well for him

Thanks Arthur ... waiting on the report no' ... but the police have an eye witness, time, the car details & rego ... if they can't get their act together with that what more can be done ? They seemed pretty positive.
Dazza ... great idea! ... but no video
... a couple of handfulls of change ... not worried about that ... would be nice if they paid for the door glass ... I can dream![]()

I hate to say it, but going home to breakfast will probably be your best option. Despite the 'hang em high' sentiment that the post will likely incite, there is not much that you or I can do about it other than install stronger locks or get bigger dogs.
My home was broken into some years back when we were travelling in the UK and luckily despite some damage to a window and near miss at having my wagon stolen (fortuitously the battery was flat) it wasn't trashed, defecated in or much stolen. The police think they were disturbed because a lot of stuff was piled up near the window and the deadlocks kept the bigger stuff inside. On another occasion some things were stolen from my car which my wife had left unlocked in the carport (bless her soul).
In both cases, the police finally apprehended the thieves and I did get some of the missing stuff back months later. I had asked both the case officers and public prosecutors what the odds were of restitution for the rest, but the response was not particularly encouraging. In effect, the defence and judge would likely take the view that I am rich, the thieves are poor victims of circumstances, and you have insurance no doubt. You could pursue it at your cost, but the likelihood of succeeding would be scant. Indeed, both sets of thieve were either juveniles or unemployed folk and placed on good behaviour bonds - notwitstanding the housebreakers having added our home to 40 odd others in the preceding weeks.
So, I share you angst for sure. It pees you off at the time, but there isn't a lot that seems to be able to be done to curb it.
Cheers,
Yes ... suck it up and move forward.
Already have ...
