Age to replace winch rope ?
At what age should you replace a plasma winch rope ? Do they have a 'shelf life' so to speak or are they a replace when they break kinda thing ?
Mine must be about 6 years old now and has always been uncovered so in what little but of sunlight we get in the UK, just wondering whether to replace it or not.
Checked it before I left and it's not showing any signs of fraying, just a bit stiff in places.

As it deteriorates, the load strength drops, & it'll start breaking regularly.
If you're in doubt, load test it before a big trip, comp whatever. Just don't pull a tree out & back onto your car

Cheers for that, I *may* just order one and have it in the car ready, the supplier of orange plasma 12 in the UK has it on cheap at the moment.
