    tire presure on clay

    Howdy all,
If I'm going to be driving on a wet road with nice slippery clay on it, should I lower the tire pressure? And if so how much?
    regards

it depends, if you're sinking or digging into it you can lower the pressure, however if its slimey hard pack raising the pressure helps

and when you start sliding side ways

I see two options on thin clay road (not talking about muddy bugholes)

Get a new set of underpants?
put a little foot down in a hope to clean the tires a little?

I agree with you....couple of years ago on a wet clay road at night and raining I could not identify what was a mob of cattle all over the road ahead.....braking was futile really.....I was doing about 80k and just cadence braked until I was close enough to try to split two......but hit one.....btw I had good muddies on......had no room on board to carve it up either. changed my undies and drove off.......a little slower and more cautiously.
