    road directions in Adelaide

    Gday All,

A dumb question but our GPS died and no road map of Adelaide, so here goes..

Today I got on the southern expressway at Lonsdale and headed south to the end..so if I headed north, how far does it go? and can I use it to get on the main road to go to Port Augusta?

    Many thanks

    Cheers Ean

No Andrew, those bloody melbourners cant get the act together with the prawns, so thought I may have to self deliver them if Toll never came thru.

Lucky they did so I can relax here...Not really having a family reunion, so instead of going to someone place we decided to meet in the middle, so we drove south, and the rest drove from WA.

I was there last week for a funeral.
I reckon its a crap place to get around, at funereal pace ( no not at the funeral), of only 25!!! in school zones,50,and 60 and no 70 ( which is about 80 in Sydney)

It seemed to take dozen of twists and turns to get to the destinations.
The taxi driver to the airport was boasting about how much better it was than Sydney, IMHO BS.
And I had a guide although she is a 76 year old Nun.( but a swinging one doing a Phd in Divinity)
    Regards Philip A

In a nutshell, yes. Time of day permitting (mornings weekdays, arvo's weekends) heading north, the expressway will drop you onto South Road. If the expressway's closed just use South Road from anywhere south of Adelaide.

South Road, via endless roadworks and traffic lights will take you to the Salisbury Highway (go straight ahead basically) then turn left before the overpass over Port Wakefield Rd to get onto the aforesaid Port Wakefield Rd. Then stick with that until you get home.

    Hey Ean
I had a big feed of prawns Xmas nite,in my least favorite way,BOILED.They scored an 11 out of 10.Did a 50/50 mix of endeavours/tigers the tigers are definately worth the extra coin. Then again the endeavours are heaps better than whats available in Perth
    Enjoy your Xmas/New Year break.

Yes eventually. The exp way will get you back on to South Road, down on the plains, you then follow South Road north until it runs out. This is where you go onto the salisbury Highway and remember to turn off for Pt Wakefield Rd about 4-5km later. Or use that googlemap 85county showed you.
