Why not? It's more use than someone who has theirs as a general driver/toy, it gets used for a job
Who is meant to buy these new cars?

Those are the ones that go into hardware/trade stores, whinge about the price of stuff or crack it because it isn't available at short notice for a job with which they've failed to properly quote and procure all required items beforehand.
If you smoke or elect to drive a car that does 3MPG, don't complain about the price of things!
All the overly plastic adorned ford/holden performance utes truly are useless trade vehicles with crap loadspace areas, typically driven by an inner city tradesperson demographic down Chapel street for image projection.
Steel trays, racks, vans, canopies, aluminium lockers etc are surely all better propositions?
Not all the time, lots tow a trade trailer which they are suited for, plus they get to have their toy aswell, a compromise, cause despite the fact they might have that vehicle, it's likely their sole vehicle
Plus there has to be some perks for putting up with the general public who generally whine about how much it costs to have you there and why you drive a new ute:D
If you get a Tradie that comes in a rig like that (from the 1st post of thread) you are definitely paying too much.
heres my version

The way I set my Charges is if I , as a homeowner, were paying for a service how much would I be willing to pay for a quality job.
I'm going to lay it on the line here & say I charge $90 callout & $60 ph hour,
some of my competition ask a callout of $140 with MINIMUM of 4 hours even if the job takes 30 mins, AND PEOPLE PAY IT.
And what about what you can't see in the photo, Geophys equipment like a GPR unit, try getting one for under $20 grand, and your average EMF locator will set you back between $8,000 - $12,000.

Bottom line is if you reckon trades are getting paid too much its because people keep paying them the bloody ridiculous prices they are charging.
What happened to chook cam
Seems chookcam was more popular than I thought, [happycry]
We have the property for sale (any land developers watching ??)
and the domain was up for renewal & since Im winding everything down including the ADSL account there was no sense in keeping it going.
The bandwidth it used was a lot more than a NextG mobile broadband will cope with which is what we are switching to as will be on the road for 12 mths.
