defer 110 panels - panel beating
Good people,
I laid my 110 on its side on Sunday (passenger side). Bent the roof and gutter over the passenger front door preventing it from closing flush. And top of the roof on the rear quarter pushing the rear door frame out of alignment (rear door doesn't shut). There are other dings and marks that can be beaten out.
Are there any recommendations for a smash repairer in the Sydney metro that will work with the truck as is (trying to avoid replacing panels if possible) that has experience and love of the land rover marque. Will need to be pushed back into shape and some old fashion panel beating.
cheers MLD

Very sorry to hear about your tip. Where were you?
Try Daniel at Mulgo he has a really good panel beater near him. Did wonders for me but much smaller, just a small ding.

After several quotes and several "not going to touch it" responses the tight A in me has decided to have a go at DIY panel beating. Before I rush off and spend hundred on tools, is there anyone out there in metro Sydney that has panel beating tools and for a case of beer help out a mug (me), more cases if you add your skill and labour. PM me if you want to exercise "all care no responsibility".
Also will need a hydraulic ram to push the roof up and out a few inches. The bottle jack with 40 x 70mm timber isn't cutting it.
Thanks in advance
MLD

Defender panels are made from Kraft mild cheese slices, rolled extra thin
Aside from merely bending the panelsback into the general original shape, protracted panel beating with metal tools will quickly stretch the material. It can be shrunk again with heat and a wet cloth but only a very small area can be done at a time.
If you are not too fussed about acheiving a showroom finish just get things roughly back in shape and give her a coat of lustreless Olive Drab.
Bill.
