    Rechargeable LED worklight

I've had a rechargeable LED worklight for a few years that decided to die recently. It was one of long tube shaped ones with a flat panel of LED's (maybe 60 or so), and a few in the end with a reflector so you could use it as a basic torch (albeit with poor light output). Used it for camping (just adhoc use - not general campsite lighting), and working on the car etc.

I've checked on ebay, Bunnings, and the camping stores like Rays Outdoors, but nothing particularly jumps out as a suitable replacement. To be honest most of them look quite dodgy - so looking for suggestions for proven type/brand/style to replace it with.

I'm not wedded to the round baton style, but it does need to be rechargeable and a reasonable size/shape that you can wedge it the engine bay, or sit it on the ground while you change a tyre or do roadside repairs. Something with about 5 hours runtime should be sufficient, as long as it doesn't take 3 days to charge it up again

    Any suggestions?

    Steve

    Thanks Ron.
They are quoting 8hrs run time in the specs, but how long do they take to charge up?

Hmm, good question. A couple of hours, I think.

If you can tolerate wearing a head-lamp... have a look at these:-

Headlamp: Headlamps, Led Headlamp, Head Lamp On Sale - Free Shipping - DealExtreme

I've got this one... out on loan at the moment... 50/50 chance of getting it back, so I've been told....

    Focus-Adjustable Cree Q3 3-Mode White LED Headlamp (1 x 18650) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme

I suspect the Narva lamps are an 'overnight' charge.

Mine lasted about 6 months before the switch died...

I think I'll be trying the Narva next.
