I drove through rain like that in the NT once, heading along the Barkly Highway towards Mt Isa. It was night time and the headlights reflecting off the rain made it seem as if there was a white bedsheet being held about a metre in front of the car. I was reduced to about 30 kph following the white line in the middle of the road.

Well we woke up to water views this morning, not anywhere near as bad as it has been several times in recent years but still it takes a lot of rain to nearly fill a valley that is about 1 kilometre wide with flowing water.

Usually there is only has a small creek running through it, occassionally often nothing.

It shows how little rain this place usually gets that a couple of days of 50 mm of rain and the place floods, when we lived up in Nelson Bay several times a year we would get well over 100 mm of rain in less then 24 hours and it meant nothing.

    cheers,
    Terry

    Take it Easy

Take it easy on Sydney Roads and in Southern NSW over the next few days.

Just heard / seen the top a truck jack knife on Pennant Hills Road.

The truck driver did a really good job not to cause a major accident.

(I have a photo to prove it happened but would be in bad taste to post it.) You will probably see it on the news anyway.

We are ok, but it has probably cost us a couple of $k due to lost business. We still have more to come but we should be right.
    Thanks for your concern though.
