    Very Heavy Rain

Last night I was driving about 13 kms north of Shepparton when the rain hit. I have never in 37 years of driving encounted rain this heavy. It was like driving down a country road on a moonless light with the headlights off. Visibility was about 3 metres. Pulling off the road to stop was hard, as I could not see anything.

Looks like the "Sunshine Coast" weather in Qld.
Why they call it the Sunshine Coast? the Cloudy Coast will be more appropriate.

There certainly was some heavy rain over night, going to rain of and on all week. I had a similar experience. Would have been about this time last year or even two years ago, was one of the long weekends. Was coming back from Heyfield and was caught in a heavy hail storm. Not good with one speed wipers. Could see to pull over, but not any were to get cover from the hail.

The inner cylinder of the gauge here is full and there's 2 cm in the outer cylinder. That would be pretty close to 50mm so far today and its not letting up.

I have encountered that sort of rain while in South Africa, driving from Kimberly to Capetown it absolutely bucketed down and we had to pullover almost taking out a fence, when the rain did clear there was a Rhino right near the car .
