Last nights episode of Coast on SBS had a mention of the birth of the Landrover vehicle concept at Red Wharf Bay, Wales. See it on SBS On Demand here;

It starts at 41 mins in
I Know this'll be old news to some, but I hope not all

I watch all of those programs.
Last night the Landrover segment was educational and great viewing.
Stripping down the thingy on the beach looked like great fun.
When it is available on DVD I will purchase it.
Cheers.
Robert.
PS: I would really like to own another one like that. I bought my first new Landy in 1962.

Yes - we saw it over here too. Was a good segment, very educational and factual. Interesting where the "concept" came from.
Cheers .........

It was good. That Coast is an interesting show. It would be good to have a Coast program done about Australie as there is plenty of interesting coastline to explore. However, I can't imagine the commercial networks picking up the idea unless it involved cooking or game shows....

There's that programme on the paid channel dealing with British Inventions and goes to great lengths of the birth of the Landy. The presenter is that guy from Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy and some other BBC comedy shows.
Name of the show and presenter fail me, as always.

That was our own Michael Bishop from Melbourne, currently residing in the UK. That segment was on over there a few months ago. Shame we didnt get a heads up as to when it was on. I was in the bathroom when the XYL shouts to come and look.
