Thread: Thinking of buying a BMW 650GS Dakar motorbike - any advice on these?

I used to have a F650 Dakar that I bought new 2001. Loved it was easy to ride but was heavy if you dumped it. Only problem I had with it was had it sitting in the shed for a few months when I went out to start it it would not fire. The bike shop had to come pick it up and plug it into there dignostic computer to work out what the problem was. I can't remember what it was but exactly something to do with the fuel injection system. Was repaired under warrenty. I miss it and would buy another.

I remember once having a very slow speed fall on the driveway on my 1150 GS So ****ed off with myself, in front of all the neighbours, I managed to pick it up immediately on my own and ride off. However another time when the peg sunk in soft grass and it fell over I was not pumped on adrenalin and had no chance of lifting it. Had to get others to help me.
