I'm going to upset the Greenies, possums and cockies on Thursday

Come Thursday the very large liquid amber I have very close (2.5 meters) to the house is getting the chop. I'm exercising my 10/30 right.( Bushfire clearing of trees 10 meters from house). It is a haven for the smelly brush tail possums to climb up at night and pee and defecate on our cars, and barby area. In summer if we do'nt have a good down pour the stench is real bad in hot weather. At the moment it has those spikey green seed pods . The Cockies swarm over it and grab one take a bite then drop the remains on you head if you are not careful. The mess is over our cars. The concrete slab in the garage has lifted from it's roots.
$3800 to have pros remove it as the branches are so thick and it needs to be taken down in small pieces as not to crush the garage.

Liquid ambers I can't see why any one would plant them in a home block. The mess they make, the leaves in the gutters.

If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

reading what you have said, I would be giving it the chop as well if it was mine.
So many people plant trees without any thought at all about its effect when it is a fully grown specimen and to its removal, all be it, many years down the track.

When i moved into my new estate 10 years ago the council/ developer had a massive brainwave and planted small paperbarks all up the street which where under 6ft so I promptly cut it down as the geniuses had overlooked the fact that the water, phone and gas lines where all within 1m of the tree base and the trees where directly under the overhead power lines and next to the cycleway/footpath. As a result my section of cycleway has remained level for the last dozen years whereas the other 1.5k's looks like a skate/bike jumpers dream and telstra has only had to relay the cables once so far.

This is not a single man with ebay saw job.
I have a team of about 8 pro blokes coming, a harnessed tree climber, ropes pullies stump grinder and it's an all day affair. This is not a DYI job

but I also have a large 20mt Norway Spruce being half way cut, then the rest is for me to ebay saw, Again close to the house, saving dollars here only

We're waiting on a crew to come and chop three of those bastards at our joint.

+1 for 'why would you plant them on a house block?' They are a ***** of a thing.

this subject is one of my pet peeves, people planting inappropriate trees (big gums, bunya pine etc) on house blocks and councils not looking at where they are planting trees interfering with power lines and footpaths and in Brisbane they plant them so close to the path you cannot walk on it in some place!!
okay rant over i will go and lie down now no offense meant
