    Freight Costs

    I have had a quote on freight to get an alternator from England of 60 pounds.
    Having only ever imported once from UK I was wondering if this is a bit expensive? I have just had a new head plus head bolts which weighed 17kg sent for 95 pound. The alternator weighs 6.2 kg so 60 pounds seems a bit dear. Anyone imported similar and at what cost?

    I was quoted the same for my alternator Dave so ended up just buying it locally.

    Dave, I have just had a 7.6 Kg parcel from rimmer bros in the UK to Adelaide express delivery which cost me 50 GBP so I guess its all down to how much you save buying direct from the UK. ( in my case I saved about $500.00, and the shipping and service was really great. four days from phone call.

    It was $280 + gst so about $310, my old man got it off one of his suppliers.
