This will record in 640x480- quite OK but HD is far & above better quality.
They advertise 1280x960 but fail to mention that is the still pictures, not video.
My version of this has just died- after 7 months, but it works 5 plus hours a day, so I'm torn between getting one the same ($26.00 to $35.00) or going one up to HD ($80.00-$120) or one with HD & GPS ($150 +)

    Cheers, David

    additional camera

    Hi All

I would be very interested if another camera could be added to the unit, so that the display could be used for a rear view for reversing.

    I have one of those.

Mine prefers bright daylight. Not too good when it gets a bit darker.

I've been thinking of doing this too. So far only found the GoPro which looks brilliant. Didn't realise you could get similar things for such cheap prices. At $30 a unit one of those eBay jobbies look like a bargain. Thanks for those links.

If you drive at all in the course of your employment one would assume you have a responsibility to drive safely..

therefore I assume you could buy one of these units and claim it against tax as it is your method of being able to prove something required by work. (EG its a safety/security tool)

LONGREACH I am certain that you could claim yours and cards - also maybe discs and possibly part of your computer to be able to download the info on tax..

as for others (requiring to drive from point a to point b) Can anyone advise if thats correct or not?

    Sd or micro sd

    Hi all,
Just ordered one of the $30 units off eBay, looks great for the money.

Only a little confused, on the details it said sd compatible, yet the link to purchase a card was for a micro sd.

From those of you that have already purchased one, which is it so that I can order a card in advance?

    Any thanks,

    Lee

Just received mine this morning - 8 days from order, pretty happy with that They take a standard SD card - I'm playing with mine at the moment - easy to setup and use. I will stick it in the car later and take it for a spin to see if I can catch some dickheads doing stupid stuff.

    Cheers - Gav
