well I've now done about 21,000k and i'm not impressed. Front brakes shudder like crazy, gets bump steer, pulls to the right, has already worn a big hole in the carpet, ripped seat, sliding doors get stuck closed, rear door just popped open one day, gutless, thirsty, and doesn't handle that great.
I treat this car no different than my old VW, and apart from tyres wearing out, nothing went wrong with the thing.
Will be handing it over the the boys next year or my business partner, if he wants it.
I know its much cheaper than a dak dak, but i'm going back, its worth the extra $12k
Oh and the handbrake is worse than anything landrover ever did, definately have to keep it in gear or it will just roll away.![]()
As a courier iv driven a lot of different vans. At the smaller scale, fork out the extra and get a 1 ton hiace. You definitely won't regret it. Simple done well.
Hiace are designed for short people, i'm far to tal (6'4.5"). I've had all sorts of work vans over the years, the vw is definately the best, although the next one will have a few more options. OR i'll get an Amarok as i'm trying to get off the tools a bit more.![]()
It's amazing how much they can carry!
We had one in the backyard at work and it was carrying 20+ kg in the door
