Calling on -Land Rover Discovery sound aficionados
Ok Land Rover Discovery sound aficionados’.
I’m being lazy coz it’s raining and hoping someone can save me some time and point me in the right direction.
On my last trip off road, I noticed a loud crack from what sounded like the right rear of the car when that side was articulated up going over a rise. It only “Cracks” when the right side is lifting or dropping from being articulated.
There’s no obvious signs, nothing appears loose, spring and shock good What could it be?
If you guess it and I can confirm it, I will send you a scratchy in the post.

Here's one idea: If you have longer shocks, it could be the spring reseating after it dislocates slightly at full articulation.
To check: stick the jack on a couple of bricks or wood to raise it up, put it under the chassis rail near the rear tyre and jack it up until the shock is at full length, see if the spring is unseated at the top.

I like your thinking, I'll give it crack this week - please excuse the pun. If that's it, Ill send a scratchy.
Cheers,
