    Car Tyres???

    Unfortunately some of us have a 2wd in our driveway. In my case my wife has a 2008 Ford Focus TDCI (just a smaller version of the Defender engine!!!).
    Time has come for new tyres. I cant remember the last time i bought car tyres, so have any of you got some suggestions.
    Car runs 205/55R16's, it has heaps of torque down low and we drive lots of highway and country roads in Victoria, so need something really good in the wet.
    Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    The last set of tyres I bought where;

    Bridgestone Potenza RE001 Adrenaline, 225/45/17 front and 245/40/70 rear for my daily drive and I can not fault them. Plenty of grip and would definately recomend them.

    Bridgestone Potenza RE001 Adrenaline Adrenalin Potenza RE001

    They have now been superseded by the RE002 RE002

    I can only note my own experience here. My daughter has a Renault Clio which was on low prof Continentals. We replaced these on a cost preferred basis with a higher profile Bob Jane All-Rounder at about a quarter of the cost.I can find no or very little appreciable performance or capability loss, the NVH and ride has improved dramatically and the durability of the tyres has increased dramatically.I was a little skeptical about these tyres at first thinking a budget tyre couldnt deliver the goods like "premium" can but have been proved wrong.The performance of these tyres was so good in fact , we contacted the Bob Jane organisation at a follow up service....provided free....and filled out a formal statement to the effect.So far the savings have been probably over $3000 because if she had stayed on the contis she would have been on her 2nd or possibly 3rd set over the same time period.

    Same, good tyre but they dont like lots of roundabouts as we found when my brother and SIL had the car in Canberra for a few months.
    Cheers

    Mine have a bit of wear on them after 20,000km but that may or may not have anything to do with my driving...
