    Rego Sticker Confusion.

G'day all. Just transfered the rego on my D2 over after buying it a month ago. One thing i noticed before, and was reminded of checking over the new paper work, strikes me as pretty weird. My Disco is an 01 SE model, however the rego clearly says DISC98A.....
Whats up with this? Am i just missing something or is the RTA going wrong somewhere?
    Cheers

Not sure, but I think the D2 was introduced in 98.

My 98 tdi D1 has DISC97A on the label and mums 01 D2 has DISC99A on the label, i wonder what the D4 has, i'll check sometime. But to answer your question, no i don't know, but then i've never really cared, though i have wondered about it

    Cheers

It's merely a code for the vehicle IIRC my SIII 109" Series Landy has 75A on it and the MY12 D4 had "DISCOVE"

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Over here in "Wait Awhile" where we are so far behind the times - we don't have rego stickers / labels any more. Got rid of that old technology a while back now.
    Cheers .........

While we're on rego labels, has anyone else noticed that since 2011 the labels are no longer a plastic membrane but a plasticised paper?

I used to remove last year's label and stick it over the hole in this year's paperwork so it stayed together. Now the label tears into pieces and can't be re-used, so now I have holes in my paperwork.

SA has gone the same way...

Its so much easier - especially for motorcyclists who dont have to find somewhere to stick the damn label.

    Trailers are easier too
