Whats with these "Spotted in Xyz" threads that have sprung up on the forum.
I can understand it if there is something special about the vehicle then fine but most are everyday vehicles - a landie with a white roof ain't special.
If I and everyone else posted up every Landie spotted on the way to the shops the forum would be overrun with posts.
So we have Spotted in Qld, Spotted in WA, Spotted in Vic, Spotted in NSW?? - Why not the other states or even spotted in Goulburn, Frankston.
Maybe some rules need to be developed to cover what type of vehicle is listed - but for me spotted a Green Defender with White Roof is no big deal.

I see at least a dozen Landies on any given day, i don't post about them, so not sure why people do, if they are interesting i just go oh cool and usually remember them, like the idea or whatever, i drive a Disco and wave to most LR's especially Defenders, but the Pumas don't seem to wave back(just joking, they do, had to rock the boat a bit). I agree though, the silver Disco in maccas carpark gets a bit old. Mind you if i ever see something really interesting i talk to the owner or snap a pic, maybe one day i'll see something intersting enough to post, (such as the Alverston Red D2 extra cab ute that gets round my parts, but i didn't have a camera
)
Cheers

I think Garry's point was just the individual threads that are using bandwidth, the state ones are okay, as they are like anormal thread, just stops the board getting cluttered, kinda like a filing cabinet, versus a pinboard for each sheet.
I guess as a serial offender occasionaly posting stuff from time to time from Asia, Africa etc I hadn't figured on ****ing a whole lot of people off. I can now see the error of my ways.
So, heading to Arizona, Utah and New Mexico next week to meet up with a bunch of USA series zealots - one guy has 8 including a 1950's S1. Guess I better leave the camera at home and forget about posting photos.
Who's a grinch?
If we were limited to only posting about what everyone finds interesting, there wouldn't be much on here to look at...
Personally, I thought this forum was to discuss all aspects of LR's, not just the ones certain people are interested in.
If you don't like a thread, don't post on it, simple.![]()

Ok no worries - I might as well post up a pic of every everyday garden variety landie I see - I might as well go down to the local landrover dealer and take pics of all the landies there and post them up as vehicles spotted.
I have no issue whatsoever with the general idea of posting up pics or describing interesting landies (in the eyes of the beholder) that are spotted but posting up garden variety vehicles - give us a break.
I was just suggesting the mods need to set some boundaries but a few of you go off like pork chops in the sun at a simple suggestion.

I don't post up every Landrover I see oteherwise you would get a "Spotted green 101" in the morning and a "Spotted green 101" in the evening each day. I only post up "spotted" posts of things that interest me or what I think others may be interested in.
Besides, it gives me something to read at work.
