    Things that make you go hmmmm

    Went to leave work tonight. Was some power steering fluid under the front. New that the pipe has tarted to leak a bit. Got the ute running and soon found that I had stuff all power steering. So called into Super Cheap to get some oil. Filled the power steering up. At this point it was only a minor leak. Started the ute up, checked the area that was leaking. Pipe then split behind the nut. Messy ever so slightly messy. Had to move quickly now as the leak was a wee bit worse than before and the oil that I had just put in was leaking out. So back into the store and out with two hose clamps and short rubber hose. Cut a piece of the rubber hose of and cut it length ways. Wrapped the hose around the pipe and clamped it in place with the hose clamps. No leaks, so home I went. Just another day owning a land rover.

    Well well well there is always at least one out there out on the forum hunting for easy prey. Sheeze I try and get it all good , I really do true ! But ahh no one wee little mistake and BAM Well at least there was not a F instead of a T starting the contentious word

    Well there was a happy ending to to this tale. Just so happens that the maintenance department where I work has the gear to make hydraulic hoses. So now have a brand spanking new hose. This hose won`t burst any time soon as it is waaaay over spec. Have already fitted the hose, just got to get some more power steering fluid. I reckon that there will be a noted spike in power steering fluid sales by the time all this is sorted.
